The Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce offers a wealth of small business resources for all small businesses. Newly established small business owners and experienced business owners alike can benefit from our small business resources available only to our Chamber of Commerce members.
Women in Networking: The Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce is aligned with Women in Networking (WIN). Women in Networking is driven by women, for women, and has monthly networking events featuring guest speakers. Membership funds are not comingled with other entities, and programs are designed to support local charitable opportunities.
Kankakee County Young Professionals: The Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce is aligned with the Kankakee County Young Professionals (KCYP). Kankakee County Young Professionals is a group whose goal is to grow and equip young professionals to lead the community. Focus areas are business and social networking, professional and leadership development, and community and civic involvement. The group regularly meets for networking lunches at local restaurants.
Enterprise U: Kankakee County's "Enterprise U" Entrepreneurs Boot Camp & Business Plan Competition will be held from March–June 2015. The program includes a formal business plan competition, an accompanying coursework series crafted by KCC's Small Business Development Center, and special community and business events centered around the ideas of developing talent and building business opportunities from the ground up!
EnterpriseU 2015 is open to startups, existing businesses seeking expansion into new product/service markets, or new businesses open for less than one year. The program icludes access to business plan mentoring, a small business development coursework series held at Kankakee Community College, and several special networking events. Three top winners will be selected from all business plan entries. Winners need only agree to locate their businesses within Kankakee County. Visit the EnterpriseU site to read more and apply.
