National Travel & Tourism Week 2024 KACO Tour

Shhhh…don’t tell your boss! It’s time to play hooky, pack your {day} bag & join the Visit Kankakee County crew as we prepared to kick off National Travel & Tourism Week 2024. We’ll check out a few, both new and familiar, attractions in the county.  Choose to tour them all or pick one or two. We’ve got the tours and treats covered; you only need to show up.  Just a heads up, space is limited, so sign up for your favorite tour(s) ASAP! Feel free to pass along to your teammates. Here’s the scoop.

FRIDAY, MAY 17

Manteno Golf Cart Adventure: 9am – 10:30am

Meet at the Square on Second, Manteno

Kickstart your Friday morning! We’ve rented a fleet of golf carts from Stevenson Auto Sales & have a fun and exciting “scavenger hunt on wheels” for you to embark on in the golf-cart friendly downtown Manteno. Utilizing a free app, you’ll be competing with your fellow hunters to check out some cool destinations. And no competition would be complete without prizes!

Limited to 32 participants.

Connect Roasters Roasting Facility Tour: 11:00am - Noon

281 N. Industrial Drive, Bradley

Catch a behind-the-scenes tour of the Connect Roasters roasting facility, Kankakee County’s only coffee roaster! We’ll learn about their mission, sustainable coffee sourcing, community contributions and of course – coffee roasting!

Limited to 20 guests.

B. Harley Bradley House Tour: 12:30pm – 1:30pm

701 S. Harrison, Kankakee

True, the B. Harley Bradley House has been here for more than a century, but we know that not everyone has had a chance to tour Frank Lloyd Wright’s flagship prairie style home. And even if you have toured the home, repeat visits NEVER disappoint!

Limited to 25 guests.

Haymaker Horse Ranch: 2-3:30pm

3075 W. 6950 N. Road, Bourbonnais

Relatively new to Kankakee County (July, 2021), Haymaker Horse Ranch is home to many 4-legged friends: horses, mini-horses, mini-donkeys and some very rambunctious and incredibly cute mini-goats. We’ll take a farm tour, spend some cuddle time with the animals and enjoy some appetizers and refreshments (did you know that Haymaker Horse Ranch hosts regular events, including Taco and Tequila tastings???).

Limited to 25 guests.

We’re happy to answer any questions you have, and excited to see you at one (or all) of the tours! Tourism remains STRONG in Kankakee County; every $1 invested in tourism promotion results in a $11 return. We appreciate your support!
