Membership Code of Conduct

As a Member of the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce, I recognize that membership is a privilege and that a membership brings with it the responsibility to assure that all members understand and commit to the following code of conduct.

The code of conduct shall, without limitation, require members and all participants of Chamber sponsored programs to:

  1. Refrain from publicly disparaging the business practices of fellow members and refrain from condoning or engaging in misrepresentation or unethical practices.
  2. Conduct business and professional activities in a reputable manner so as to reflect honorably upon the business community and fellow Chamber Members.
  3. Respect the reputation, profile and status of the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce and respect the Chamber accordingly.
  4. Understand, support and promote the Mission of the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce and cooperate with fellow members.
  5. Whenever reasonably possible, participate in the functions and activities of the Chamber and promote the enhancements of business growth within Kankakee County.
  6. Observe the highest standards of ethics in rendering services and/or offering products for sale, based on the members’ own knowledge and expertise.
  7. Refrain from engaging in any practices prohibited by law or seeking unfair advantage over fellow members and conform to all laws established by Municipal, State and Federal governments.
  8. Present a true presentation in all advertising
  9. Respect the role of the Chamber staff.

Members intend to uphold these policies and become an active and contributing member. By becoming a member, you understand that violations of this Code of Conduct may result in removal of membership. This also pertains to all Councils and Committees that are involved in the Chamber and if violated, may result in removal of being a Council or Committee member.

Photo Policy

By registering or attending a Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce event, you consent that photos and videos of you at the event may be published in print or online or any sole description of the Chamber staff. All photos and videos shall remain property of the Chamber. If you wish to not be photographed, please contact the Chamber staff.

Refund Policy

  • General Policy: Refunds for payments made to the Kankakee County Chamber of Commerce (KCCC) are subject to the following conditions.
  • Membership Fees: Membership fees are generally non-refundable. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis within 30 days of payment, subject to a review of the circumstances.
  • Event Registration: For events requiring registration, cancellations received up to 30 days before the event will be refunded in full. Cancellations received less than 30 days of the event will not be eligible for a refund.
  • Sponsorships: Payments for sponsorships are non-refundable once agreed upon and paid, as these funds are immediately allocated for specific uses.
  • Processing Time: Refund requests that are approved will be processed within 30 business days of approval.
  • Refund Method: Refunds will be issued using the original payment method. If this is not possible, an alternative method will be arranged.
  • Right to Refuse: KCCC reserves the right to refuse a refund request if it does not comply with our policy.
