This Black History Month, we are proud to celebrate and highlight some of our Chamber members who are Black-owned businesses. Today we are proud to spotlight Angela Jones-Greer, owner of Helping Hands of Hope Counseling Services.
Tell us about your business and the services/products you offer?
We offer Autism testing, psychological evaluations, and SAP services for DEPARTMENT OF transportation. We provide individual, family, and group therapy utilizing CBT, DBT and holistic approaches. We accept Medicaid/Medicare and private insurances.
When did you start your business?
2019
What makes your business unique in our community?
We partner with a non for profit organization called Household of Faith and a food pantry is hosted at our counseling office once a month. We also provide a prayer box for those needing encouragement.
What motivated you to become a business owner?
The needs of community. I was able to tailor my business to the needs of community.
Who or what has influenced you most on your entrepreneurial journey?
Life’s experiences and my mom’s continuous encouragement.
What does being a Black-owned business mean to you?
Being a Black-owned business means honoring my ancestors and preserving the sacrifices that made my path possible
What’s next for your business in 2026?
We are in the process of expanding our practice into Behavioral Health Clinic to provide intensive client-centered care through case management, community support, and medication management.
What message would you like to share with aspiring Black entrepreneurs?
