Spotlight: Mary Posing, Board Member

Dean of Kankakee Community College (KCC), Mary Posing has been a Chamber Board Member for 15 years. She started in 1997. She is a firm believer in the Chamber, and in recent years joined the Chamber Board.

“I choose to be involved in the Chamber because of all the good things that it does in the community, the networking opportunities, and the promotion for the community and organizations,” said Mary.

Mary grew up in West Kankakee and she currently lives in Bourbonnais with her three four-legged kids. Mary worked at Kankakee County Convention and Visitors Bureau before working at KCC. Her favorite part of working at KCC is watching people reach their goals personally and professionally. Mary believes that you are never too old to learn something new. She really enjoys brainstorming programs for students. Her day-to-day responsibilities are program development and management, working with employers to develop training programs, and outreach.

Mary is a firm believer in leaving things better than you found it. She is loyal, compassionate, and curious. She enjoys reading, walking her three chihuahua dogs, gardening, and laughing with friends. Mary also enjoys volunteering at a local animal rescue center.

We are so thankful for the many years that Mary has served our Chamber. Her work does not go unnoticed, and the Chamber would not be the same without her.
