This business started in October of 2017 as a home baking business selling cupcakes, cheesecake, and pies at the Kankakee Farmers Market. Their first day at the Farmers Market they completely sold out of everything and were thrilled from their customers encouragement and support which pushed them to dream big.
In June 2018 they opened their first store front and later that year they purchased a trailer to sell their desserts and 24 different flavors of ice cream at local community events including festivals, birthday parties and company events.
As their business continued to grow they made a major investment in Bourbonnais and started construction on a brand new building in August 2021 and opened their doors in June 2022.
They truly value the community and being a chamber member. They show their appreciation by donating products to the local Police and Fire Departments, Teachers, Veterans of the military, cancer awareness organizations, schools, sports teams and many other non-for-profit organizations in our community.
From their very humble beginnings of baking in their home kitchen to now having a beautiful full service restaurant and a wide ranging array of desserts, 24 flavors of ice cream and a large cake and pie operation, Candy & Cake are very deserving of this award.
