Jimmy Jo's BBQ
Jimmy Jo’s BBQ was founded in 2009 by Jim Johanek and Lloyd Kemble. After researching many regional styles of BBQ, we decided that a Texas style BBQ would fill a niche in the Kankakee County market.
Everything at Jimmy Jo’s is made fresh on site, our Brisket and pork are cooked low and slow for over 12 hours with Hickory and applewood in our Southern Pride smokers. Our philosophy has always been to keep the menu simple and provide our guests with a fast casual meal in a fun upbeat environment or carryout. Our business and catering
have grown continuously over the years.
Catering, carryout and our drive-through
is now 75% of our business. In 2021, Jim bought out his partner and sold a portion of the business to Mishelle Denault who is the onsite operator and GM. As our sales continue to grow, we look to the future of a satellite kitchen and possibly a food truck. We appreciate the loyalty of our guests and the hard work and dedication of our team for making us a success.
